Church Ramp
Its important to remember that accessibility does not need to be ‘ugly’ and that as architects, we can strive for something that is beautiful contextually, while still being functional. Our firm was hired to provide an accessible route to the very beautiful and ornate St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church in Holmdel. The clients’ wanted something that felt like it had always been there and we were challenged mathematically to design something that was able to meet code requirements and be forward present with the grand stair. The patrons and the Church were very happy with the final result.
